Lost Embrace (El Abrazo Partido) **1/2

Ariel "works" in his mother's lingerie shop in a small neighborhood mall in Buenos Aires, all the while trying to find himself. It appears that he is trying to forge an identify and understand who he is, but pieces of the puzzle appear to be missing. The largest missing piece is his father, who is living in Israel and no longer a part of his life. Slowly, he finds the pieces and puts the puzzle together.

The style of the photography, unfortunately, drove me to distraction. It was entirely shot handheld and the result is a jarring visual cacophany that made the movie less enjoyable than it might have been. I couldn't warm up to the main character, finding little in his character that made him likeable.
