Elling's mother dies and the state places him in an asylum. In spite of his phobias he establishes an unlikely friendship with another patient, Kjell , who is obsessed with women and food and is an incredible slob. Eventually they are placed in an apartment in downtown Olso to live on their own. Reminiscent of The Odd Couple, but with a different twist. A very charming and entertaining movie. Don't miss it!
